ANNOUNCEMENT - RISING SCHOLARS POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

November 7, 2022

Rising Scholars Postdoctoral Fellowship

Review of applications will begin January 16, 2023.

In conjunction with the Rising Scholars Postdoctoral Fellowship Program sponsored by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Mellon Foundation, the UVA Department of Women, Gender and Sexuality welcomes applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in race, justice, and equity.  While we are open to all applicants who study gender and sexuality in the context of race, justice and equity, we are especially interested in scholars of Black and Indigenous Studies, particularly those who also work in Trans Studies and/or use approaches of comparative racialization (e.g., Afro-Asia, Latinx-Indigenous relations). Scholars who received (or will receive) their Ph.D. degree between August 24, 2020 and August 24, 2023 are eligible to apply.

Consistent with the College of Arts and Sciences’ commitment to advancing Race, Justice and Equity, we understand this postdoctoral fellowship as an opportunity to enhance the career trajectory of a scholar whose work advances our understanding of race, justice and equity, and whose research and teaching contributes to our vibrant intellectual community. Underrepresented scholars are encouraged to apply.
